An urban explosion always packs a punch with texture and color creating a specific mood.
I love to travel. I have always been genuinely intrigued by how different people live and adorn themselves and their spaces. Being in a particular environment can give you insight to the color, air, energy, and spacial relationships of that place. This collection portrays that idea in visual form, capturing the different sides of a city which can’t be seen in a photograph. A painting can skew and emphasize certain things while a photograph is bound by rigid constraints. The layering effect of imagery also adds a surprise element, interacting with the top layer, where mark making and colors add to the overall vista.
